I'm sort of okay with that, because as far as I feel, Weekend Confirmed never really melded well with the rest of the Shacknews community, and Shack chatty community loyalty seemed to fall off heavier after Brian Leahy and Xav de Matos weren't regularly on it anymore.
Most of the followers still seem to be fans from the 1UP Yours days. That said I found the shack after following Garnett from 1up and then getting into the shack minecraft community so I can't complain. On the other hand they have had Ozzie on quite a bit in the last year and he's done a lot with the chatty. I hope that either Garnett's new version continues to include him or the shack or gamefly does something new with him involved.
I always felt that IdleThumbs and the BombCast were more in line with shacknews's sensibilities or maybe they were just more in line with mine. The old Shacknews podcast with Remo, Faylor, F. Nick Breckon, and sTeve was good back in the day Wait, Weekend Confirmed is getting shut down? I haven't listened to the latest episode yet. Haven't used it in a while, but I've got many hours of entertainement out of files downloaded through it. Fileshack, we salute you! Remember getting demos from here, but alas they speak truth. Then they came for the Chatty, and I did not speak out, because the Chatty was gone. Never used it, nore even heard about it. That pretty much sums up why it's going away. In it's heyday it was great and it actually made me sign up to the site over 10 years ago!
